I've tried the pods, and while I can get the same results every time, it is expensive. This one is a perfect balance of flavor and body for my taste. It's on the weak side to be mixed with lots of milk. I've tried Illy few times, I love the flavor, but the body isn't there (and I've tried the dark roast).
I assume your results will be the same (provided you have decent machine). The crema is excellent. This grind works great with my espresso machine (delonghi, pressurized portafilter). I've tried number of brands and flavors, so far this is my favorite. I did not want to spend $200 on a decent grinder, so I buy espresso grind bricks. I find the Starbucks one too acid and sometimes burnt. However, this is not your best bet for a cappuccino or a latte.
In fact, it works even better with a non-pressurized portafilter, as with the pressurized one the crema is a bit too foamy and too much. I've been drinking espresso for as long as I can remember. This coffee is my favorite at the moment. It's perfect for an espresso, or just with a little bit of milk.
It is also sure to wake you up. This is a very delicious espresso for your espresso machine. It's great.
